Karla M. Maville graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law with High Distinction in 1997. She was the recipient of two merit based U of I Foundation scholarships and was a Note and Comment editor for the Journal Corporation of Law. In 1994, she earned a B.A. in political science with honors, and a minor in business administration, also from University of Iowa. As an undergraduate, she was the recipient of a National Merit Scholarship and State of Iowa Scholarship.

Upon graduation from the College of Law, Karla served as a law clerk for Justice James H. Carter at the Iowa Supreme Court. Following her clerkship, Karla accepted a position as an attorney at the Madison, Wisconsin office of Michael, Best and Fredrich. Karla was a member of the litigation group during her tenure at Michael Best, handling a wide assortment of litigation matters from the filing and discovery phase through trial.

In 2000, Karla began working at Law Offices of John H. Maville, where she is currently engaged in the general practice of law, with an emphasis on family law, divorce, child custody, estate planning and estate administration.

Karla is Vice President of the Belvidere School Board and a member of the District 100 Foundation for Excellence in Education. In her spare time, Karla enjoys reading, attending Big Ten football games, and volunteering at her children's schools.
